Service Description: Somerset County 2020 LiDAR derived 1ft contour lines with an adaptive smoothing filter applied. These cartographic isolines were generated using ESRI's raster functions to apply an adaptive smoothing filter. This algorithm allows for the level of smoothing to be data-driven, varying based on terrain slope. Flatter areas are smoothed more than steeper areas so that details are preserved while artifacts are removed. This service is provided by the ESRGC , funded by the Tri County Council for the Lower Eastern Shore via Rural Maryland Prosperity Investment Funds.
